Call for Assistance - Library Camp LA

I am interesting in setting up a LibraryCamp LA. You have probably heard of BarCamp LA and maybe some of you attended the Library Camp NYC or are going to Library Camp Kansas with David Lee King...

I would like to set one up here in L.A.

If anyone is interested and/or can give me some tips as to setting it up, please let me know. I think if would be a great experience and since we are moving to the Web 3.0 world, it would be great to hear people's thoughts and ideas and learn about what is being done out there.

Let me know! Cheers!

Definitely definitely look at the main BarCamp wiki for insights on organizing, insurance (which may or may not be an issue, depending on venue, etc.).

The advice we got organizing Library Camp NYC was allow for at least 3 months lead time to give time to promote the event on mailing lists, let people arrange for travel, etc.

Get at least two other people to help you out with the Library Camp (lining up a venue, arranging for swag if you want to do that, etc.).

If you can, get people to help with ad hoc tech support.

You might want to get suggestions on topics before hand, to "prime the pump," and get people thinking about what sessions they want to see.

More as I think of it - you should also reach out to Stephen Francoeur and Rachel Watstein.
