I really enjoyed Cecil Castellucci’s first book in this series, “The Plain Janes.” I loved the strong girl characters she had and their love of art and beauty. And she does it again in the sequel, “Janes in Love.”
It is a quick read and we now follow the Janes in their quest for love. There is requited and unrequited loves and some just confusing. Each Jane has a different approach from being straight no-frills “I like you. Let’s go out” to sitting in the balcony watching from afar.
It is funny, sad and there are bumps in the Janes friendship but in the end, they do figure out more about themselves and their friendship.
I really enjoyed this and if you liked the first one, you will probably like this sequel too.
