Carl Hiaasen returns with a hilarious, off beat adventure featuring a quiet kid named Wahoo Cray, who does whatever it takes to keep his stubborn, animal wrangling father in check, while taking care of his family's home and animals. Wahoo knows that his family is nearly broke. His father is sick and can't work. And his mother has to take a job in China. When they receive a call about job working for a reality TV show, the only thing they can do is take it. What happens next is more than any of them hoped for.
This story is fast-paced and made me laugh out loud. Hiaasen is the Edward Abbey for young kids. If you liked Hoot, Flush and Hiaasen's other books, you will definitely enjoy Chomp.
